Rules for the Oral Foreign Language Examination at Level B2

Academic Year 2025/2026

  2. Opting to retake a previously passed oral component constitutes acceptance of the new result. If the score from the retake is lower than the initial attempt, the student cannot revert to the previous, higher score.
  3. Registration for a retake oral exam is a formal commitment to attend. An unjustified absence will result in 0 points for the oral component of the proficiency exam. This score will be recorded as the final result, regardless of any points earned in previous attempts.
  4. Students are required to take the oral examination prior to the written part of the proficiency exam.
  5. Registration for the English oral exam is conducted via the token system at ul.amu.edu.pl during the period specified by SJ UAM.
  6. Students are requested to arrive at the examination venue approximately 20–30 minutes before their scheduled time.
  7. At the start of the session, examiners will verify the student's identity based on the photograph on their student ID card.
  8. The student draws two questions. The performance consists of a 2–3 minute presentation on the topic followed by spontaneous interaction with the examiner. The performance is assessed based on the following criteria:
    • Task achievement and development of the topic
    • Range and accuracy of vocabulary
    • Range and accuracy of grammar
    • Pronunciation and interaction
  9. Scoring for the Oral Exam: Each of the two questions is worth 20 points. A total of 40 points can be earned for the oral component.
  10. Points from the oral part will be added to the points obtained in the written part.
  11. Upon completion of the examination, the commission will inform the student of their result.
  12. The B2 level oral examination is officially recorded in an examination protocol.
  13. By taking the B2 level oral examination, the student acknowledges and accepts these rules and regulations.
