Theme: Combining expertise from linguistics and tourism: a tale of two cities

Instructors:

Katarzyna Radke; AMU, Poland

Judit Hahn, PhD; University of Jyväskylä, Finland

Project overview:

During this 6-week COIL collaboration, foreign language students from Finland partnered with students of information technology and tourism management from Poland. Working in international teams, participants combined linguistic expertise with digital and tourism-promotion skills to analyse the official municipal websites of their sister cities – Jyväskylä and Poznań. Using collaborative online tools, they critically evaluated online communication strategies and jointly produced promotional videos highlighting lesser-known aspects of both cities, integrating intercultural insight with practical digital competencies.
