Project overview:

This COIL project brought together medical students in Ukraine and students from the Faculty of Biology in Poland to explore current topics in human biology and health through collaborative academic inquiry. Working in interdisciplinary and international teams, participants analysed recent peer-reviewed research papers, critically evaluated methodologies and findings, and reflected on how global scientific advances relate to healthcare realities in their respective local contexts. By integrating local perspectives with international research trends, students developed the ability to apply global knowledge to region-specific challenges. The project culminated in joint presentations, strengthening research literacy, interdisciplinary communication, and the capacity to translate complex scientific insights for diverse academic and professional audiences.
